He moved to North Carolina at the age of 18 to play his first role on the CW show.  He is a four-time Teen Choice Awards nominee for his role on One Tree Hill. He is from Hemet, California. His younger brother is actor and model Stuart Lafferty. He starred alongside actor Chad Michael Murray on One Tree Hill.
