José Crespo
ACTOR
José Crespo began his career in theatre and then, in his early twenties, started doing films in Spain. In 1928 he moved to Hollywood, where he became a close friend of Charles Chaplin, and had a chance of leading some movies, especially spanish versions for Twentieth Century Fox. He lived in Mexico for some years, and went back to the USA to become the director of the Spanish Theatre in New York. The year before he died, he received the Golden Medal from the Spanish Film Academy.
