Steve Bisley
ACTOR
Popular Australian actor born in New South Wales, whose earlier film work typified the "Aussie larrikin" sterotype with his lively and animated acting style, blonde hair and lairish grin. Bisley broke into film alongside fellow NIDA graduate Mel Gibson in the surfie flick Summer City (1977), followed by a minor role in Newsfront (1978), next up Bisley appeared as quick tempered police officer "Jim Goose", again with Mel Gibson in the action thriller Mad Max (1979), and then as a wildcat miner in the gritty outback tale of The Last of the Knucklemen (1979). The likeable Bisley found himself in regular demand in both Australian cinema and TV, and over the next few years he showed up in a variety of fine productions including _"A Town like Alice" (1981)_, _Highest Honor (1982)_, Squizzy Taylor (1982) and Silver City (1984).
